Almost 25 Weeks

Here I am at 24 1/2 weeks. Baby is still moving like crazy all day long! Now you can see her moving by watching my belly. It's crazy how quickly she is growing! The books say she is about 1 1/2 lbs. and 9 inches long at this time of gestation. I'm only 3 1/2 weeks away from the time my water broke with Tye so many memories are entering my brain from that difficult time. We have our fingers crossed that I will go all the way this time!!

Tye's Bed

If you haven't heard already Tye has not been too fond of the toddler bed. Actually since we took down the side of the crib he has not sleep one night or one nap in it. We have not been able to figure out why he prefers the lazy boy over his bed. Bob went in to check on him a couple nights ago and this is how he was sleeping. Usually he is on his tummy half off the chair...this position looks a little more comfortable. In the new house Tye will have a new twin bed and no lazy boy in his room. I hope to break him of this habit so he can get better sleep!

Bob & Tye

Bob was home for a few days this past week after being in Cleveland for almost two weeks. Tye wouldn't let him out of his sight the whole time he was home. He absolutely loves his daddy! Bob is now at the combine in Indianapolis and will be home on Tuesday. It will be very busy for us when he returns because we are moving to a bigger house. We are going from a 1700 square foot house to 2500. It will be very nice to spread out a bit more and have a bedroom for the baby. We will have 4 bedrooms, an office, a laundry room, and 2 bathrooms upstairs then a family room, a living room with a fire place, a huge kitchen, a bathroom, a dining room and 3 car garage downstairs. Plus a good size fenced in backyard with a large patio. The subdivision is about a mile and a half directly west of where we live now so that won't be too much of a change. We plan to move all the smaller stuff on March 1st and March 3rd movers will get all the big stuff. I will enjoy getting organized before the baby comes but it will be quite the job!

Tye & Gannon

Aren't Tye & Gannon so cute? They both love books...They would read their books then take a break to jump on the bed for awhile then go back to reading. Tye is lucky to have such a good buddy!

Update on Tye

I don't think I have put anything on the blog since Tye's surgery. Christmas time was so busy. Anyway, we have seen some improvements and we still have some challenges. It has been 2 1/2 months and Tye has not had croup!!!! Except for a cold he has been very healthy which is not the usual for him. The challenge would be getting him to eat...according to our feeding therapist this is very typical for a child who has had G.I. problems. All he has known for the past two years is pain associated with eating. This will be the third week with Jennifer, our feeding therapist. I feel like she will be great at getting us back on track but it is going to be a lot of work for both me and Tye. We are starting to work with Tye on some behavioral problems like throwing food that have arised during eating. Right after the surgery Tye lost a pound. He gained back 8 ozs. and then this past week lost 5 ozs which was very discouraging. We will be meeting with the doctor tomorrow about his weight loss. He now only weighs 21 lbs. 6 ozs. We have a few months before the baby comes and hopefully we can get Tye eating and gaining before that time!

It's A.....

Here I am at 21 weeks! We had our "big" ultrasound this past week and everything looked great. The baby is weighing in at 14 ounces. Oh yeah....It's a GIRL!!! Bob had the tech look an extra time just to make sure. She ended up looking about four times and no boy parts were present. I am so excited to have a baby girl! She is quite the mover....I felt her kicking for the first time about 17 weeks and it keeps getting stronger and more frequent. Definitely the best thing about being pregnant!

Painting

It is the night before Tye's surgery and it seems like it is a go at this point. If you haven't heard Tye came down with croup (5th time in a year) over the weekend. It was a pretty serious episode...we spent a few hours in the emergency room. We are becoming regulars there since Tye wants to get sick only on the weekends. At least Bob was home this time to help me make the decision to go. Tye was having a very hard time breathing so they took us back to a room with urgency and had the respiratory therapist present within 5 min. to administer an epi breathing treatment. It is very powerful and shrinks the swelling very quickly to help him to breathe. Also, Tye was given steroids. They had us hang out for 3 hours to make sure Tye did not react from the strong medicine in the breathing treatment. Since Saturday he has been slowly feeling better but is far from 100%. We made an appointment with the surgeon to answer last minute questions and take a look at him to see if he was well enough for surgery. Apparently, it is the decision of the anesthesiologist but his surgeon thought he would be okay. They may have to give him breathing treatments before and/or after the surgery to help with the swelling. The breathing tube could irritate the vocal cords where the swelling occurs. My mom got in with no problems today and was help from the get go. We have to be at the hospital at 8:45 tomorrow morning and the actual surgery is scheduled at 10:45. It will take about 2 hours before we will see him...1 hour for the surgery and the rest to prepare him and some time to recover. We will keep everyone updated on how everything is going. Thanks for all the happy thoughts!!!
